When I was a kid, I grabbed the tail of a snake that was sticking out from undera bush and a second later the head of a six foot rattlesnake came out of the bush next to it and came about two inches from biting my arm. I tried to create that element of drama and surprise in this painting. He only sees what is in front of him and is unaware of what is behind him. I used Painter 5.
