Smiling Woman
Painter
July 2005

SMILING WOMAN
Combining different techniques and styles of painting that I admire for their originality and individuality. Trying to come up with something new and unique. Tried for Paul Gauguin's colors and Edgar Degas' lighting. Used bold and rapid brush stokes to try to breath some life into it. No references used except memory. Done using Painter 8 oil brushes. Direct painting, no preliminary drawing. Time one hour.
Anyway, hope some of you out there enjoy this approach to painting. Gives me room to experiment. Keeps me from being trapped in one particular style.
Opinion and criticisms greatly appreciated and welcome.
Glenn
