My Copy of Rembrandt's "Old Man In Red".

This is a master painting study of hands done for the Artistic Anatomy and Figuative Art Forum found here in CGTalk. Subdivision Open Fiigure Drawing Workshop 023 HANDS.
I chose Rembrandt's painting "PORTRAIT OF AN OLD MAN IN RED", circa: 1652-1654, Hermitage Museum, Russia, as a master study. The hands of the old man in the painting express a life time of hard labor and work which is something that I can relate to and is why I chose this painting as my master study. I used Painter 9, its impasto and other oil brushes and stuck as closely to Rambradts painting and technique as I could, while interpretting it using digital. I painted it entirely free hand, no grid or use of color picker. The works in progress for this master copy can be found in my sketch book anatomy thread. Hope you enjoy. Take care Glenn

Hello
A little painting I just finished. Needed to paint something positive to counter-balance the Master and Servant concept I just finished.
Did this painting mostly to relax my mind and calm my spirit.
But mostly to remind my heart that there is still Beauty and Hope in the world.
Remembered the words of Gandhi: (went something like this)
"When I dispair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they can seem invicible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it: Always."
References for this painting:
Memory and Imagination.
Created with Painter 5 and 8.
Comments, opinions and constructive criticism always welcome.
Always
A persistent thought that has plagued the planet for over 60 years now. Don't think it has been depicted visually. Nothing that I've seen anyway. So, I thought I'd give it a shot. Constructive critisms and opinions are always welcome and appreciated.
Hopefully accompanied by solutions to any problems in my art.

Time Of Day Overcoming Night (nudity)

Time of Day Overcoming Night
Was trying in this one to make edges dissolve in a radiance of warm light.
The theme of the painting is night and day and the cycle of time. Tried to make night and day joined as one, locked in a continual drama of light and darkness.
Day carries the symbol of time the dilemma they seem to be trapped in.
Done from the imagination, no photo reference used.
Hope you enjoy.
Hi Everyone
My concept for this piece is War as an Entity that possesses all who participate in it.
I used expressionistic style, think it's more fitting for the subject of war. Trying to create a strong emotional piece. Don't know if I've succeeded or not.
Sure would like to hear some opinions.
Any advice or recommendations would also be appreciated.
Only reference, my imagination.
Created using Painter 5.
